The author

What matter is valuable? Could it be gold, diamonds or oil?

If you are in the middle of a desert perhaps the most valuable thing is water. And if you are caught up in society the most valuable thing is gold… but only because everyone else deem gold valuable. So yes value comes down to the perception of the user. What does this mean?

It means that everything is essentially valuable, and it also means that everything has no value. If we strip away all perception, or relativity, then no matter matters. In that state of mind the only thing that we find valuable is the immaterial. And even here we can apply the same concepts. If you have never suffered how can you value happiness, and if you have never been happy how can you value suffering?

Life is perception. And society is the same. Just because things are in a certain way does not make them right. It does not make them wrong either. It just makes things be things.

As an example let’s talk about authority. What is authority? Basically if I am an authority in a certain path of alchemy then that just means I am the author of that path. It doesn’t mean anything more than that. The police are an authority, because they are – in a sense – the authors of the law. A doctor is an authority of medicine, but only because the doctor is the author of that particular type of medicine. Or a believer/follower of the origin author of whatever is being practiced.

This means essentially that everyone is an authority, or author. And what is an author but a creator... an artist. This means we are all artists.

God is an authority. Yes, but only because God is the author.

In the Bible it says that "…God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." We are therefore just like God creators. We are the microcosm of the macrocosm. We come from the cosmos, and the cosmos comes out of us.

Mainstream religious thought often perceive God as "father" or "male"… but it actually says in the Bible that God created us in his image, which is both male and female. So God is both. And so are we.

Now if you are an atheist that is fine. The above concepts work in such a world-view as well. In fact it puts you even more in the driving seat.

So what is your excuse?
